Recovery Support services are 12 group sessions and each session lasts approximately two hours. Group services will be offered in a motivational and uplifting setting and provide methods to help you remain substance abuse free. Come and get inspired by men who have spent many years working with youth and adults in a spiritual and motivational manner.
GED Preparation This training will take place in our technology center. Each client will be given a diagnostic test and placed in classes to better prepare you for the test. Mounting Horizons will enroll you in a testing center and pay for your test when you have completed this four week course. Along with the GED Preparation classes, we are offering mini sessions on how to use a computer and computer applications skills; such as, Microsoft Office. Leave our office with a knowledge that you can add to your list of skills. Find the times that work for you and come join us for learning that will change your life.
Employment Coaching services are offered each day for two weeks. We will teach you how to prepare a resume, complete job applications, and how to make the most out of an interview. Job search is available in our technology center and other sources. You will leave prepared to face the job market and market your skills regardless of your background.
Life Skills classes is a 12 session program with each session lasting 2 hours. We will cover issues that will help you manage life’s ups and downs.
Individual Recovery Coaching is 1 hour and is a one to one service provided to a client and family addressing substance abuse recovery issues.
Spiritual Support This program consists of 12 one hour sessions. Come and get inspired by men who have spent many years working with youth and adults in a spiritual and motivational manner. This bible study is a collaboration with local churches in the community.
Job Coaching - Job Placement services are available for individuals on a daily basis. This program will help individuals become self-sufficient in their jobs through on the job training by our counselors. Our focus is on helping you obtain and keep a job.
Basic Skills classes include fundamental skill levels in reading, writing, math and English. Basic skills also include the ability to interpret instructions and make decisions. Communicating effectively, solving problems, resolving conflicts, working with people from different cultures, using a computer, and adapting to change are also basic skills. This course will help individuals perform with more competence in their various occupations. The skills gained, such as, communicating effectively, solving problems, and resolving conflicts are needed in today’s workforce
Computer Applications will allow students to get a solid introduction to computer applications, such as, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. They will get time and support to practice their skills by developing a report using a word processing program, a family budget using a spreadsheet, and a short presentation using a presentation software. People who have at least a basic understanding of common computer applications will be a step ahead of those who don’t in this world of computers.
Tutorial Classes help youth become more successful in school by providing homework help, tutoring & encouragement to become self-directed learners. Students can receive tutorial assistance in all subjects and grade levels.
Computer Technology Classes allow participants to use the computer center to learn basic, intermediate, and advanced computer skills. Students are able to complete homework assignments and gain skills in Microsoft Office programs.
Recreational Sports provide fun, organized activities that help encourage respect for others, team building and healthy conflict resolution. Fitness activities help to build motor skills, increase fitness levels and improve athletic ability.
Arts & Crafts encourage year-round artistic expression among members through drawing, painting, printmaking, collages, mixed media and sculpture displays.
Job Coach Program provides on the job training to assist disabled individuals to become self-sufficient on their jobs. This program is based on need and amount of job training services required.
Transitional Program services provide information and referral services on rights/laws pertaining to persons with disabilities; promote disability awareness; acting as a liaison and advocate for disabled individuals.
Supportive Employment services enable a person to get a job and stay employed. We design support services to successfully meet the particular needs of the individual, regardless of his or her disability. We offer six areas of support in our supportive employment program; Finding a Job Opening, Analyzing Job Requirements, Developing a Personal Work Profile,Matching the Person with the Job,Doing On-the-Job Training, and Providing Ongoing Evaluation and Long-Term Support.
